The Game Design Masterclass is a crash course in the theory and practice of creating exciting boardgames and card games, led by professional game-makers with decades of experience.
Over three high-energy hours you’ll discover how games function, why people play them, and what makes a good one, then you’ll work in small teams to concept, design, build, playtest and refine a complete game that you can take home with you at the end of the session.
The Masterclass usually lasts three hours, though we also run two-hour family-friendly sessions, and whole-day training events for colleges and organisations. You don’t have to be a games expert to enjoy it: attendees range from complete novices to published designers, as well as people interested in team-building and project management. Masterclass graduates also get access to reading lists, vendor links, expert advice, and an online community of fellow designers.
The Masterclass has run on three continents, though for 2019 it’s based mostly in the United Kingdom and Australia.
We can bring the Masterclass to your games store, cafe, university, company, organisation, convention or club. You’ll find more information here.
